Criteria

  1. enrolled as a student for the current term,
  2. registered for classes, and
  3. got some evidence of payment pending in your account.

We start making IDs on the first day of the month in which a new semester begins, i.e.:

  • Aug. 1: first day for a fall ID
  • Dec. 1: first day for a spring ID
  • May 1: first day for a summer ID

You'll need to bring:

  • photo ID (like a driver's license)

Come to the library front desk (B12.800) and fill out the short form available there. Library staff will create an ID within a few minutes. You'll be photographed for your ID card, so plan accordingly!

IDs are made whenever the library is open up until the last 15 minutes before closing time, when the machine is shut down.

Your first ID card is free. If you’ve lost an ID and need a replacement made, the charge is $10. If you take a break from classes, you're eligible for a free replacement after 3 years.

You may get your ID created anywhere between the above dates and the end of the semester, though the sooner the better. [Note: the first week of classes, especially in the fall semester, is a very popular time for students to have IDs made, and wait times are longer.] If a term ends and you are not enrolled for the next semester, you will not be able to get an ID at that time.
