Looking for general contact info?

Our Library Services & Resouces Contact page has all the ways you can reach out to the front desk or a librarian. These points of contact will go to our shared inboxes and question queues rather than any specific person. This is great for when you need an answer quickly and it doesn't matter who answers or when any one person is scheduled for a shift.

What/who is a librarian, anyways? Does that mean anyone who works at the library?

When we say librarians, we're referring to the library staff who have Masters of Library Science degrees and who are employed to do librariany things (help with research and citations, teach classes and workshops, etc) under the job titles Digital Resource Professional or PT Reference Librarian

We also have reference assistants. They don't have library degrees, but they can help you with basic info like how to print or where are the databases anyway. For questions about citations or how to use the databases, they'll refer you to a librarian for expert knowledge. There's no particular degree requirement for this role.

The folks at the front/circulation desk have an boring official job title, so we just call them 'circ staff.' They're your gateway to the SLRC's services, from hours and printing to where things are located or how to get in touch with someone. Many of them are often student workers! There's no particular degree requirement for this role.
