Financial aid can come in a wide variety of formats (scholarships, grants, loans, and book advances are all examples of financial aid), with different requirements or terms to receive them. A common first step, however, is completing a FAFSA form if you  haven't already done so for the year.

The Financial Aid office can help you find resources available to you and give you recommendations for applying, and you can contact them by phone, email, or live chat.

You can access the chat through their website, or as one of the options in myLoneStar:

myLoneStar page mostly greyed out with the top-right Support tile with the chat button highlighted.

Helpful hint! The Writing Lab can help you polish any scholarship essays you may need to write!
