In the Texas State Library and Archives Commission's own words, "TexShare is a consortium of Texas libraries joining together to share print and electronic materials, purchase online resources, and combine staff expertise."

No one library in the world has access to every single piece of content ever! Consortiums like TexShare (or the agreement between LSC, HCPL, and MCMLS) help libraries more easily share content with each other's members.

Databases

Many of Lone Star's databases are made available as part of TexShare's database bundle, to which we subscribe. On our resource guides, we've marked these with a little icon of the TexShare logo. You don't need to do anything special to access or use these! It's just an acknowledgement of the source, especially because these are funded, in part, through TexShare utilizing grant funds provided by the US Institute of Museum and Library Services.

TexShare Card

Per the site, "The TexShare Card is a statewide library card that lets you borrow books and other physical materials from more than 500 libraries [both public and university libraries] across the state!"  There are over 70 TexShare libraries within 20 miles of the 77070 zip code (our campus zip code).

You must return the items to the library yourself: for more distant materials, you'd want to request an inter-library loan.
