The files you save to the computers are tied to your login, so they'll follow you around to the different computers on campus that you log in to (and conversely, anyone logging into a computer you've used will not see any of your files).

However, it is recommended that you take advantage of the 1 TB of OneDrive storage space that you get as an LSC student! A couple benefits:

  • Your files will be accessible to you at home when you log in to your student Office account. Files saved directly to the lab computers are not accessible from off-campus.
  • Very rarely, files saved to the lab computers disappear and cannot be recovered. There also comes a point where the System needs to purge files from the servers to free up space. It's always a good idea to save anything you want to keep to multiple places, to a flash drive, emailed to yourself, or whichever.
