There are 3 kinds of email addresses you may come across at Lone Star College: D2L, student, and employee.
Students:
Student email addresses are formatted as: [myLoneStar username]@my.LoneStar.edu.
- So, for example, a student named Eskarina Smith with the username esmith1 would have the email address: esmith1@my.LoneStar.edu.
Your email address is not case-sensitive.
You can access your email by signing in to myLoneStar. There is a tile for email on the myLoneStar landing page as well as in the Student portal view.
Students also have an email address inside D2L, e.g. esmith1@D2L.LoneStar.edu. This is only meant to be used for communication inside of D2L with your instructors and classmates; this is not your primary, official email account.
Employees (including staff, faculty, and administration):
You can easily distinguish student email addresses from employees because they're formatted differently. Eskarina Smith the employee would have an address like Eskarina.Smith@LoneStar.edu or Eskarina.W.Smith@LoneStar.edu. These can be looked up in the Contact Directory.
